About Me
I am a time served decorator, have started my career in 1997 as an apprentice with a small decorating company. The jobs were mainly domestic, both interior and exterior and have me a great start in domestic decoration.
I then moved on to a further apprenticeship at John Lewis Stores in Welwyn Garden City where I was involved with the service team in all aspects of decorating within the shop. This included shop window beds, new phases of construction, internal decoration and external decoration, including windows.
I completed my apprenticeship at John Lewis, leaving fully qualified, to start my own decorating business. I have built a good client base and completed many successful projects with further repeat work from clients attesting to the quality of my workmanship.
I am also a site supervisor for painting companies, I run the painting side which includes organising the schedule of works and the painters, ordering materials and working alongside site management. I also enjoy project managing refurbs on private houses and orchestrating other trades.
I am also happy to have an apprentice with me. On new build sites the main contractors use apprentices at an NVQ level 2 from local colleges and offer them job placements for the duration of the site. I supervise and train them on a daily basis, until they have completed there onsite NVQ qualification.
After all these years I still really enjoy being a decorator. This comes from having a great deal of pride in my work, applying the same standards with my customers that I would have if I was working on my own place. My aim is to have truly satisfied customers.
Elsewhere on this site you'll find examples of my work.
